When the time comes to start getting “inside” the keys there is no better place to start than the diatonic triads. Not only are triads a huge part of what you need to play bass lines but they also combine to form beautiful chordal sounds. No matter how far you want to take your bass playing, you will want to start playing this stuff inside out.
– Play diatonic triads in the major keys with ease and in many different permutations.
– Apply a variety of dynamic markings to all materials.
– Be able to name all triads in the key.
– Build a rock solid fingerboard grip.
Any level player can begin to work on these studies. But given that these exercises require very close attention to detail, including built-in accent studies, many professional players will also benefit form this course as well.
